Role Description
We are looking for a Network Support Engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for managing and improving AST Networks infrastructure across Australia and globally. In this role, you’ll lead network-based projects, maintain key infrastructure, and collaborate with both internal teams and external clients to ensure smooth and reliable communication services. You will also play a key role in supporting AST Networks Sydney POP, contributing to AST Networks cutting-edge connectivity solutions.
This is a demanding role that requires you to prioritise effectively, multitask, and quickly absorb and retain customer and process knowledge. Your ability to work collaboratively with internal teams will be key to delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

- Network Project Management: Manage and execute network-based projects for internal and external customers, ensuring efficient delivery.
- Sydney POP Support: Serve as the remote hands and eyes for the UK-based Global Technical Information team, maintaining Sydney POP infrastructure.
- Firewall and IP Configuration: Configure and maintain customer-specific firewalling and IP addressing for the Sydney POP, supporting direct customer interconnects.
- Customer Communication Systems: Configure, test, and support new and existing customer communication systems, including AST Networks Link Box service, contributing to local standardisation of this product.
- Remote Technical Support: Provide remote diagnostics and support to installation teams, enabling quick resolutions during site visits.
- Documentation and ISO Compliance: Engage in both internal and customer-facing documentation processes, assisting with ISO standards and contributing to continuous learning.

- Able to prioritise tasks and stay up to date with the latest technology trends and security practices.
- Excellent at building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, internal technology managers, and other teams.
Essential Experience / Qualifications / Educational attainments
- Up to five years in a technical role, preferably focused on network management, IT infrastructure, or communications systems.
- Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent industry experience
